D&P - improveme.se

Destinee & Paris: "Britney like our outfits"

The Swedish pop duo produced Destinee & Paris, consisting of American sisters Destinee and Paris Monroe, has been touring around Europe as opening act for Britney Spears. This weekend they were in Stockholm and improveme.se got an exclusive chat with the girls.
**************************************************
You are the sisters and work together, but what are your differences?

Destinee: We definitely have different personalities. I play tough, but just the sensitive of us. Paris pretend to be nice, but ...

Paris: I do not pretend! I am nice to everyone, but when it comes to business, I am certain.

Destinee: That's right, she is Miss a businesswoman. Naturally I listen to most, but I can say no if it is something that is important to me.

I read on your Twitter that you were a part of Stockholm before.

Destinee: Yes, we recorded our debut album here two years ago along with Swedish producer RedOne. He is an amazing producer and has really an ear for music. He is the best!

Paris: He has become as our brother and mentor, so it's great to be here again.

But you have also worked with other Swedish producers, right?

Destinee: Yes, our first single, "True Love", was produced by Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia. Then we have also worked with Carl Falk and Rami (Yacoub), who is also Swedish. You Swedes can really pop!

Do you have any favorite places in Stockholm, perhaps a restaurant or store you like?

Destinee: Stockholm is like our second home. Vapiano is great, they need to open a restaurant in Los Angeles.

Paris: And we love the mall, with Top Shop and H & M.

Have you had a chance to hang out with Britney Spears during the tour?

Destinee: We see her often in the corridors. She smiles always against us and how cute any time. The other day when we were in Helsinki in Finland, she stopped us and actually said, 'Oh my God, I love your outfit! " She is very down to earth.

How would you describe her?

Paris: I would say she is iconic. She is always at the forefront of that of the pop music and she has done for many years. The first concert we went to was Britney Spears, in 1998 or 1999. We were completely overwhelmed by the dance and the costumes and music production, that's when we decided to focus on music as a profession.

I saw your show in Paris in early October and noted that you are in really good shape, which I assume is a must when worn so tight costumes. How are you doing to stay fit?

Paris: Thank you! We try to eat very healthy and 'clean' food, and we train a lot. Dancing is also a good way to keep fit.

Destinee: Then we run very well. We do not want to be out of breath on stage.

Do you have any special beauty routine?

Paris: We have straight hair, so we can not go anywhere without our curling iron. Then we like make-up from Make Up Forever.

Destinee: We also have a really good skin care system that we run every night before going to bed. It takes a lot of part cleaning to remove all the stage makeup.

Make up your own selves?

Paris: Well, when we are touring we make up ourselves, but when we do shoots and music videos we use makeup artists.

How important is appearance as a performer?

Destinee: When people come to a show, they want to be entertained, so we have a little fun with your hair, makeup and clothes. We want them to reflect our music, which also is about having fun.

How would you describe your music?

Paris: It's fun and energetic pop with an edge. And very dance-friendly.

How long have you been doing now?

Paris: We were designed five years ago, but we have been doing music professionally since we were 7-8 years old.

Culture Blogs meets Destinee & Paris

In connection with Destinee and Paris Monroe visited Sweden as opening act for Britney Spears met with Culture Blog up siblings at Globe Quality Hotel. We talked about their relationship to the Swedish music and what it's like to tour with one of his idols. Just before the interview, we caught glimpses of even Joe Jonas from the Jonas Brothers, so it was clearly a very star-studded group of musicians who had gathered in one building.

How long have you been doing music?

We've been doing music all our lives. It has been our passion ever since we were little and that is something we have always loved to do.

Who was it that attracted your interest in music?

Britney Spears was a great inspiration. The first concert we ever went to was a Britney Spears concert. We inmponerades second of the show, dancers and production, but above all by how theatrical it was.

Previously you played in a band, how was it?

Yes, three years ago we played in a band called the Clique Girlz. It was a great trip but we have now moved on and is only Destinee & Paris.

Is Destinee & Paris your real name?

Yes it is. We are often asked about the artist name but Destinee and Paris Monroe is actually our birth names.

How does it feel to be the opening act for one of his sources of inspiration?

It's amazing, she's the queen of pop. We have seen up to her all our lives. If someone ten years ago had said that we would be opening for Britney Spears, we had thought he was crazy. To share a stage with enough iconic artist is wonderful.

Is it the first time you visit Sweden?

No, we were actually in Sweden two years ago and recorded by RedOne. The single Truelove we recorded with Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia.

Can you describe your relationship to the Swedish music?

Abba has had a profound effect on us. They are exemplary when it comes to writing good harmonies without exaggerating them.

What have those who will see you tonight to look forward to?

There will be some surprises, including a medley of Gnarls Barkley's Crazy and Adele's Rolling In The Deep. It will be fun.

How long are you working with Britney?

We are committed throughout her European tour. It's so funny that Joe Jonas is also with us. Sometimes we play a trick on him so he must be careful all the time.

Do you have a home when you're not on tour?

We have a house in Los Angeles where we live when we're not on tour but lately we have been touring so much that the tour bus has become our home.

Is it difficult to adapt to life on tour?

Nowadays it is not very difficult for us to adapt to life on tour. When we toured for three years ago it was much harder but now we have become accustomed. Going on tour is the best thing about being an artist.

Do you have time to see the city you come to?

Well, yesterday we were able, for example, go shopping and go sightseeing. Stockholm is so different from Los Angeles. We love the shops and architecture.

Are you going to school or while music is a full time job?

We graduated from High School earlier this year, so now the music is our full time job. Music is our life.

How it usually go to when you write songs?

Normally we listen through the tracks as different producers send to us then we try to find a concept or an emotion that we feel are appropriate. Only then can we start writing lyrics and harmonies. Usually we write about personal experiences, but sometimes it happens that we enter someone else's shoes.

Do you have a song that you are particularly proud of?

Boyfriend, really, it has no title yet but we call it so until further notice. It is fun to drive and the audience always seems like it.

What are your future ambitions?

Being able to continue doing what we do. Then we have two main goals: to win a Grammy and be able to go on their own headline tour.

Pop Dream - Joe Jonas & Destinee & Paris visiting Sweden

Yesterday was the new girl duo Destineer & paris and girls' favorite from The Jonas Brothets, Joe Jonas, on a visit to Stockholm. The two would be opening for Britney Spears and sat for a few hours and did interviews at the Globe Quality Hotel.

Take yourself there to film an interview with the debutants in the sibling duo Destineer & Paris, which followed with Britney during her European tour. They told how Britney at a signing a few years ago called the sisters of her "babies". And now the touring with her, only 16 to 17 years old. And so they work with RedOne and just released their debut single True Love written by such Rami and Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia. It's fine now.

The girls were anyway how nice any time. Very down to earth and professional and gave us an acapella mash-up of Gnarls Barkelys Crazy and Adele's Rolling In The Deep. Coming soon fill it up here on the blog.

In the room sat dredvid Joe jonas and did interviews. while Destineer & Paris traveled with her mother had Joe Jonas a large crew with him. You can tell he really is a superstar - and then primarily in the United States. Joe was also really nice, although we did not have time and talk for so long. But he said he avrit in Sweden before, but that it was only this time he had time to see anything because he stayed a little longer. Now he has just released his first solo album and will tour with a show based on it. At the same time, he told me that the other Jonas brothers were involved in various projects in the U.S. and all bets are very pleased with what they did.

Meet Pop Sister Duo Destinee & Paris

Sisters and singers, Destinee and Paris are rising to fame, especially with their most recent gig-opening for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour. The girls released a song for the Despicable Me soundtrack: “I'm On A Roll”

And yep, they sure are on a roll. Hollyscoop caught up with the girls to get to know them a little better.

Hollyscoop: What's been the most exciting thing about being on tour?
Destinee & Paris: I really think that just playing in general is the funnest thing for an artist. We love being on a tour bus and going on radio stations in the morning and doing sound check, and all that fun stuff.

HS: That's amazing, so cool. What's one piece of information you can share about Britney that her fans might not know?
D&P: We've actually never met Britney before!

HS: Well, you guys are getting huge lately, who's the person you'd want to collaborate with most?
D&P: I would really love to collaborate with David Bowie. He's amazing. We've always been inspired by him. He's such an incredible artist and he has inspired so many people in this business, just like us.

HS: What is it about him you love?
D&P: He's really just made a name for himself in the music industry and just, like, how creative he is and the different alter egos he's come up with. He's just an amazing brain, you know? And he's really original in the fact that he was able to put together art, music and fashion all in one. It was really something that shocked the population.

HS: Do you guys watch 'Glee'?
D&P: We barely have time to watch Tv. We don't really watch too much TV. When we're on the road, that's when we have time to catch up on shows...But I have seen a couple episodes of Glee, and it's awesome.

HS: How would you feel if they asked to appear on the show?
D&P: We'd love to perform on Glee. It's so amazing what they've been doing lately, because not a lot of TV shows put together singing, acting and dancers in one.

HS: And what's it like working together as sisters?
D&P: Oh my gosh, performing as sisters is really, really fun. We don't really take things so seriously. It's great to have each other because we're always having a blast.

HS: And you can support each other.
D&P: Yes. We grew up performing together and singing together, and I mean, it's basically what we know.

HS: So what are you working on next?
D&P: Right now we're working on the finishing touches on our album. We have to do some stuff with our packaging, pick a name, and do all that fun stuff. Then we'll release a release date. Read More about:
